Jackson Tai

Non-executive Chairman

Most recently, Jack served as a Non-executive Director of Mastercard (for 15 years), for Eli Lilly and Company (for 10 years) and for HSBC Holding PLC (for 7 years as Chairman of the Group Risk Committee). In the not-for-profit sector, Jack continues to serve as Trustee and Chairman of the Investment Committee for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, as well as a Trustee for the Metropolitan Opera and for the New York Philharmonic.   

Jack was Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of DBS Group Holdings Ltd. and DBS Bank Ltd. from June 2002 to December 2007. He joined DBS as Chief Financial Officer in July 1999 and was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer in 2001.  Prior to joining DBS in Singapore, he served 25 years with J.P. Morgan & Co. Incorporated, including as Managing Director and Member of the Investment Banking Division management committee. While at J.P. Morgan, he established the Japan capital markets business, based in Tokyo; founded the global real estate investment banking division based in New York; was the senior officer for Asia Pacific based in Tokyo; and served as senior officer for the Western United States based in San Francisco.

Previously, he was a member of the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, a Non-executive Director of Bank of China Limited, Singapore Airlines, NYSE Euronext, ING Groep NV, CapitaLand, Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. and Jones Lang LaSalle.

Jackson received a Bachelor of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1972, and a MBA degree from Harvard University in 1974.
